This project is requested by a ceramic artist originally from Portugal but works and lives in the USA. The request was to design a home workshop reflecting the Portuguese culture in the workspace. The main inspiration at first is the Azulejo, a form of traditional Portuguese painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework going back to the 13th century. Since blue is the iconic color of Azulejo, the primary color is inevitably blue! White and earthy tones are the accent colors to strengthen the sense of clay. The worktable is the hub of the activity in the middle of the room to make the flow and access easier. One wall is left blank to display the works of the artist.
